one fourth of my mission

So transfer calls came and went again without anything, which means we're probably in Wakefield another transfer, unless something crazy happens today, making a full 6 months at least here. We're both convinced that our pictures on the transfer board just fell off sometime and got vacuumed up or something. They'll find us dead in our apartment years from now. Really though we're both fine with it. We still get along and there's some promise for the next 6 weeks. Hopefully we'll find some new investigators which seems to be the big problem right now. We've discovered that usually the reason for someone living out in the middle of nowhere away from everything else is because they really want to be in the middle of nowhere away from everything (and everyone) else. We'll have to start doing something different.

We did set someone for baptism this last week which was really the highlight. He's the brother of one of our members that investigated a while ago. He really wants to change and we are certainly accommodating that. He *should* be baptized the beginning of February if all goes according to plan. I shouldn't say it like that. Sounds like an evil plot.

Charles was difficult to re-contact last week but we eventually got a lesson set up for tomorrow. We get the feeling that his daughter anti-ed him pretty bad cause we know she's active in whatever church she's a member of, which usually means they're very actively anti-Mormon, and he spent the last month or so with her. We'll see what happens though. Optimism.

A far off picture of a bald eagle.
Apparently they're not so rare anymore
but I'll let you think it's a big deal to see one.
Oh, what else. We're expecting some snow this week, possibly starting tonight and definitely starting tomorrow. Last we heard it's gonna be worse than the last one, which ended up being a record snowfall for Wakefield. So yeah we might be inside some more. Boo-urns.

Zone meeting was on Friday. President Perry was supposed to be there but he ended up just walking in, dropped off a package for someone, told us the church was true, and left. Apparently there was a very important emergency that we'll never know about going on. Other than that though it was good, and we ate at Golden Corral afterwards. $8 to painfully stuff yourself.

Speaking of mysteries, we had a weird one. We went to follow up with a potential in the middle of nowhere to a house that looked very empty. We walking up to the backdoor cause the front door told us to, and as we come up to it this random guy drives up the driveway and around to the back, rolls down the window, and says hello, in a "can I help you gentlemen" sort of way. We said what we were doing and asked if anyone lived there and he said no. Then he rolled down his window and drove off. Random. Mystery. Third Nephite. Whatever. He may have saved our lives.

Another mystery: I had a dream a few nights ago that one of our APs stabbed Elder Jeffrey R. Holland in the back. Literally. With knife. Prophecy? I dunno. Fragments to end paragraphs.

Well I think that's about it. I didn't forget about Cavan and Casen's birthdays. I still have to get cards today which means late cards but that's okay. Please forgive me.

Goodbye!

-Elder Parker
