So this week was cool. We got 30 lessons in which is like a record for me. Not to toot horns. Rest assured we taught people not lessons. That's the big focus of all this "new stuff" we've been getting. Making sure we don't forget who we're teaching instead of just rattling off the lesson like we've memorized it (no offense). But yeah 30 lessons. This means nothing to many of you and really it's just a pat on the back for us but it was a goal of ours for this hustling zebra and we accomplished it. Hooray.
At the end of this transfer (September 9th) will be 4 and a half months in Waynesboro. It's hard to put into words what Waynesboro's like. It's a small city (compared to home I guess most cities are small) but it has a Wal-Mart and will soon be getting their first movie theater. There is a history here but I have no idea what it is. There's a heritage museum I've thought about going to on a P-day but p-days are lazy by design around here and going to a museum isn't lazy enough for us. The downtown area is probably the coolest part but it's just a few blocks. The rest is just houses and businesses and TREES everywhere. I'm sure you could do some Google street views to see what I walk along everyday if you'd like. But that's up to you. Really though it's a pretty quiet town with some "rough parts" and some nice people.
Anyways the experimental zebra is winding down right now and I can't say it hasn't been interesting. Elder Holbrook has had a hard time staying awake during Spanish lessons so he's been reading the Bible Dictionary and drawing circles in his planner to stay awake. It's even harder when teaching our blind friend cause you know he can't see you dozing off. The other day in the middle of the lesson he yelled out "Holbrook, are you ASLEEP?" and we just laughed cause even a blind man could see him sleeping. It was funny.
We should have a baptism coming up in the next week or so. It was going to be this Saturday but they couldn't make it to church for their third time so it'll be put off until next Tuesday or Wednesday (before transfers). That will be exciting. We've been finding more people lately to teach and a few are keeping their appointments but nothing completely stellar to report.
